Park Hill Saudade is an album distributed by Mahakala Music. It is purely an album of improvisational jazz music created by Chad Fowler, the label owner, and Chris Parker. Chad needed an album release package that includes an CD, album cover, and other promotional materials. The experience of listening to this unique type of music had to be represented in the work itself. After talking with him it was clear that his intention for the music was to provoke and express a deep, emotional longing sensation, hence the word "Saudade." My aim was to create a design that was a pure response to his music through the use of deep gradual color and memory-like expressions of motion through shapes, bringing to life the dream-like state of the music.
